Music students at Kangan Institute are a step closer to launching their music careers after producing an original album.
The diploma of music students from the TAFE’s Broadmeadows campus worked together to produce the album, which will be launched next month.
Student Amy Gooch, who enrolled in the course after dropping out of school in year 11, said the opportunity to create an album had given her invaluable experience.
“I chose to study music so I can pursue a career as a performer in the industry,” she said.
“I’ve learnt how to work with a variety of talented musicians, perform to an audience and create an original album. I’ve also discovered the behind the scenes perspective of the music industry, such as the theoretical and business sides of things.”
Kangan Institute chief executive Trevor Schwenke said the album project had helped students to develop their technical skills and gain industry experience.
“Producing a music album like this involves a great deal of creativity, passion, technical skills and collaboration, and is an invaluable experience that our students can take to their future endeavours,” he said.
The album, Euphoria, will be launched at Musicland in Fawkner on November 14, at 7pm.
