Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and families?

Whittlesea council invites you to embark on a journey of possibilities at the Children and Families Career and Jobs Fair at Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre on Monday, August 7, from 9.30am-1.30pm.

Whether you dream of working in kindergartens, day care, or starting your own family day care business, this free event has something for everyone. Council’s team of seasoned professionals will be on hand to provide advice and inspiration as we showcase careers and roles dedicated to supporting families and nurturing young minds.

There will also be free on-site child-minding during the event to support parents to attend.

The Children and Families Career and Jobs Fair, presented by council in partnership with Hume Whittlesea Local Learning and Employment Network (HWLLEN) and is designed to connect job seekers with exciting and meaningful career paths within the children and families sector.

Chair administrator Lydia Wilson said council is thrilled to be holding this event, emphasising the importance of these caring roles in supporting broader community wellbeing.

“This fair provides a brilliant opportunity for those interested in the sector to explore different roles and engage with sector representatives. Whether you have a passion for nurturing young minds, promoting family wellbeing, or supporting childhood development, this event is an excellent way to get inspired and empowered to make a real difference in the lives of children and families,” Lydia said.

The fair will host informative presentations on a variety of topics including School Based Apprenticeships, the Maternal and Child Health Student and Graduate program, how to start your career in early childhood education and much more.

With more than 30 exhibitors, including educational institutions, local employers and support organisations, you’ll have the chance to connect with influential professionals and gain valuable insights to shape your career. Don’t miss this opportunity to speak with the Victorian Government’s Overseas Qualification Unit, where you can seek advice on recognising international qualifications in an Australian context.
