Illicit tobacco seized in Campbellfield

A Craigieburn man has been charged after police seized illicit tobacco valued at close to $2 million and a loaded firearm during a search in Campbellfield.

The 30-year-old Craigieburn man was arrested at his home address on July 30.

Police said that a subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered a conducted energy device, knife and a large quantity of cash.

A second warrant was then executed in Campbellfield, with police locating over 4700 boxes of illicit cigarettes valued at close to $2 million and a loaded handgun.

The Craigieburn man was interviewed and charged with firearm, prohibited weapons and proceeds of crime offences.
