A Mickleham business which is a household name has been recognised as Hume’s business of the year.
Hume council recently hosted its annual Hume Business Awards, crowning Dulux as the municipality’s top business.
The company, which is based in the Merrifield Business Park, was recognised for its innovation, contribution to the community and creation of local jobs.
Dulux was also named the manufacturing business of the year.
Mayor Carly Moore said Dulux had created more than 60 jobs since opening its Mickleham factory in 2018, with most of its new employees living locally.
“As part of its strong community focus, the business has helped more than 350 community organisations through fundraising, volunteering and direct donations,” she said.
The Hume Business Awards recognised 15 local businesses and their contribution to the community.
Other winners included Mickleham’s Marnong Estate which was named cafe and restaurant of the year; Campbellfield’s Advantage Caravan Repairs which was named small business of the year; and Broadmeadows’ Brite Services which received the diversity award.
