Hume Winter Lights Festival

Hume city council is hosting an inaugural Winter Lights Festival on Saturday, June 18 with big international names Sneaky Sound System and The Presets set to perform.

The event will take place at the Town Hall Broadmeadows and its outdoor surroundings.

Large-scale artworks, including those by Hume artists, will be projected onto the town hall and other buildings in the precinct.

The festival is a chance for locals to immerse themselves in live music, fire-based performers, interactive art displays and food.

Festival goers will have the chance to dance the night away to local music acts including DJ MzRizk, DJ Emma Peters and Super Mande Percussion, or bang along on the drums at an African drumming workshop.

As the night sets in, attendees can warm up at the indoor bar or book a private igloo and enjoy local food and wine under the winter sky.

Hume Mayor Carly Moore hopes the event will attract people to the municipality.

“There will be plenty for people to do and see at the inaugural Hume Winter Lights Festival and attendees can expect an immersive experience that celebrates music, art and food,” she said.

“We are proud to host this festival which showcases Hume city and inspires visitation to our region.”
