Hume has hit the Victorian target for double dose COVID-19 vaccinations, but is still behind many local government areas (LGAs).
According to federal health department data, 91.8 per cent of eligible Hume residents had received their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine as OG Sunday, November 21.
More than 95 per cent had received their first dose, according to the data.
Neighbouring Whittlesea is still behind the state’s double dose target, with the data revealing 88.1 per cent of eligible residents had received their second dose as of Sunday, November 21.
According to the data, 93 per cent of Whittlesea residents had received their first dose of vaccine.
The data revealed that over 95 per cent of residents in 46 LGAs in Victoria had received a double dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Overall, 89.3 per cent of Victorians have received two doses of vaccine.
Despite high vaccination rates, Hume and Whittlesea continue to be among the local government areas with the highest number of new COVID-19 cases recorded.
Victorian health department data revealed that Hume recorded 86 new cases yesterday, while Whittlesea recorded 42.
Wyndham had the highest increase of new cases, with 90 recorded yesterday.
The state recorded 827 new cases of the virus today.
