Hume records three COVID-19-related deaths

Three men from Hume are among 11 COVID-19-related deaths recorded in Victoria in the past 24 hours.

According to the Department of Health, one of the men was aged in his 50s, the second man was aged in his 60s and the third man was aged in his 70s.

Of the 2297 cases reported today, 255 were recorded in Hume, while 200 were in Whittlesea.

No other municipality recorded a high number of cases.

The health department said that 1245 of the new cases were in households not currently impacted by the virus.

Overall 63 per cent of all of the cases reported today were aged under 40 years and 46 per cent were aged under 30 years, the department said.

Pop-up vaccination clinics will open at three schools across Whittlesea and Hume this weekend.

The clinics are among 11 new vaccination sites, targeting school communities and local residents.

The clinics will be at Thomastown Secondary College, Elevation Secondary College in Craigieburn and The Lakes College in South Morang.

The sites will administer Pfizer and Astra Zeneca.
