Ninety per cent of Hume residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination as the municipality’s jab rate continues to grow.
In early September, Hume first dose vaccination rate was just 48 per cent. With COVID infections in the municipality on the rise, the state government launched a vaccine blitz in Hume and launched a drive-through vaccination site at the former Ford factory in Campbellfield.
According to federal health department data, Hume’s first dose vaccination rate had reached 90.5 per cent as of October 17, while 58.2 per cent of eligible residents have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
In Whittlesea, 86.8 per cent of eligible residents have received their first dose, while 58.6 per cent are fully vaccinated.
A pop-up site vaccination centre will operate at the Craigieburn Sports Stadium today, offering walk up AstraZeneca and Pfizer jabs.
It is open until 5.30pm.
