Human remains found at a Wollert landfill have been identified as those of missing Epping woman Ju “Kelly” Zhang.
Ms Zhang was last seen leaving her home on the night of Monday, February 1.
The remains were discovered on June 18 during a search of the Wollert Waste Management Centre as part of an ongoing investigation into Ms Zhang’s disappearance.
In a statement, police this afternoon said the remains were formally identified after a forensic examination.
“The Victoria Police Missing Persons Squad would again like to acknowledge the support and assistance of numerous members of the community in this investigation and offer our condolences to the family,” the statement said.
A 35-year-old Doncaster man has been charged with murder.
