House fire in Meadow Heights brought under control

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews swiftly contained a house fire in Meadow Heights on Monday night, preventing further damage to the single-storey brick veneer home.

Multiple 000 calls were made after flames were seen issuing from the roof of the Bicentennial Crescent property.

FRV crews arrived within six minutes and found the loft area heavily involved in fire.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the home, containing the blaze before it could spread.

The fire was brought under control by 7.32 pm.

All occupants evacuated safely, with no reported injuries.

The cause was determined to be an electrical fault.

A Hue council building surveyor will assess the structural integrity of the home, and the residents have been placed in temporary accommodation.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria also attended the scene in support.
