House fire in Craigieburn

A woman has had to jump from a second storey as fire left her trapped in the house she was in.

Fire Rescue Victoria received a number of calls about the fire at a Cambric Terrace property just after 1pm.

The house was fully involved.

A female occupant was unable to evacuate the second storey and jumped off the balcony to the ground, sustaining serious injuries.

Firefighters provided emergency medical assistance to the female until the arrival of paramedics.

The fire took 30 minutes to bring under control.

The top floor of the house has collapsed with the remainder fire and smoke damaged.

Firefighters will be remaining on scene into the evening to continue extinguishment and to undertake fire duties.

The cause of the fire is still to be determined.
