Help shape Broadmeadows’ future

Hume Council is calling on residents to help shape the future of Broadmeadows by sharing ideas for its precinct development plan, Project Broadmeadows.

Council is seeking feedback on what is working well and what needs to change in Broadmeadows.

Council said Project Broadmeadows would create one long-term detailed plan to bring current and future projects in Broadmeadows together.

“We are planning to make Broadmeadows city centre a better place for everyone,” council said.

“We want it to be a great place to live, visit, work, play, learn and grow.”

Project Broadmeadows will influence the area inside Riggall Street (north), Camp Road (south), Talgarno Street (west) and Pascoe Vale Road (east). This area includes Broadmeadows Train Station and Broadmeadows Hospital.

According to the council, the project will help make sure changes are well-planned, fair and meet community needs, and help to prioritise improvements.

Council is working with the state government, the Wurundjeri Woi‑wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation and other local organisations in partnership to deliver the project.

Project Broadmeadows is supported by $3.3 million in funding from the federal government through the urban precincts and partnerships program (uPPP).

Council predicts the plan will be finalised and advocacy will begin from December this year.

You can share your ideas before March 30 and read more on the project at https://participate.hume.vic.gov.au/broadmeadows-precinct-roadmap
