The concept plans for Hume council’s Highgate Recreation Reserve playspace upgrades are open for community feedback until December 16.
After receiving community feedback in 2021, the following new play equipment and improvements are proposed:
– Two play units with a mix of slides, balance and climbing activities
– Swing set with toddler and inclusive seats, and a nest swing
– An accessible carousel
– See saw, rocker and climbable sculptures
– Nature play including log and rock steppers
– Play hut and interactive play panels
– New shelter with picnic tables and BBQ
– Seating options including backed bench seats and group seating
– Drinking fountain
– Improvements to the existing landscaping
– A public toilet will also be installed to the north of the playspace
Council said it was anticipated works will commence early 2024.
