Police are investigating an alleged incident where Four dirt bikes harassed a car in Coolaroo, causing it to veer towards oncoming traffic.

Investigators have released CCTV footage and images of four males they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

It is understood a car was driving on Barry Road about 5pm on December 5, when the male driver and female passenger were harassed by males on unregistered dirt bikes.

Police were told their riding caused the car to veer towards oncoming traffic.

During the incident, one of the dirt bikes collided with the back of the car.

The car continued to Dimboola Road, Broadmeadows, where it mounted the nature strip outside the police station.

The victims, a 45-year-old male driver and his 46-year-old female passenger, were still being followed by the dirt bikes.

The bikes then drove off.

There were no physical injuries during the incident.
