Greenvale man charged following alleged hit-run

Police have charged a 45-year-old Greenvale man following a serious collision in Carlton last month.

It is understood a 2012 brown Honda Civic struck a woman riding an e-bike on Canning Street, near Alexandra Parade about 10.20am on Thursday 30 October.

The 34-year-old woman rider was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police allege the driver of the Honda fled the scene in the vehicle prior to police arrival, before investigators later located the unoccupied Honda in Fitzroy North.

The Greenvale man has been charged with failure to give name and address to the injured, a failure to report to police after causing injury, failure to obey a red traffic light and a failure to transfer vehicle.

He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 6 February.
