A grassfire that spread across 10 acres in Greenvale was controlled by Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) just before it reached new homes.
According to FRV, multiple residents reported the fire at 1.08pm on January 7, and firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes.
With the support of the Country Fire Association (CFA), the fire was deemed under control at 1.48pm before it reached the fence line of a nearby new residential estate.
FRV had issued an advice message for Craigieburn, Greenvale and Roxburgh Park residents to stay informed.
The fire has been deemed suspicious and will be investigated by Victoria Police.Ambulance Victoria was also on the scene.
