Greenvale community mourns the loss of young player Ben Bachmann

The Greenvale Football Club community is in mourning following the tragic death of young footballer Ben Bachmann.

The 16-year-old suffered a medical episode at training, leaving teammates, coaches, and loved ones devastated by the sudden loss.

Ben’s mother, Di, shared an emotional tribute on social media,

“It is with absolutely broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ben, who received his angel wings earlier this morning. We appreciate all the love and support shown to us over the last few days. Ben was loved by so many. We will love and miss him forever. Chris, Di, Harry, and Emma.”

In a heartfelt statement, Greenvale Football Club president Bruce Kent described the event as an “unbelievably devastating occurrence for a young boy just training with his mates and looking forward to the new season”.

“Ben was liked by all, and his family always volunteered,” Mr Kent said

“We extend our profound sympathies to his family- Di, Chris, Harry, and Emma.”

The Greenvale Football Club has assured players and families that support services will be available to anyone struggling in the wake of Ben’s passing.
