More than 1000 Victorian grassroots sports and recreation clubs, including in Whittlesea and Hume, will receive new uniforms, equipment and training opportunities.

Community Sport Minister Ros Spence announced the latest recipients of the state government’s Sporting Club Grants Program, who will share in more than $1.5 million.

“Community sport is the lifeblood of Victorian communities,” Ms Spence said.

“That’s why we’re backing more clubs with help to purchase uniforms and equipment and investing in their future through training and development.

“Every parent wants to see their kids active and engaged – local sporting clubs are the heart of so many communities.”

The program provides up to $1000 for uniforms and participation equipment, up to $5000 for training coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5000 to improve club operational effectiveness.
