An Epping basketball team will buy reversible tops for its players after receiving a grant developer Cedar Woods.
Cedar Woods, the developer of the Mason Quarter estate in Wollert, awarded nine community grants to groups in Whittlesea and Wyndham.
The grants program was set up in 2009 to support community groups and small businesses by providing financial assistance.
Epping Storm Basketball Club shared in the $30,000 funding.
President Kerry Ruston said while reversible tops might seem like a small purchase, they would beneficial on game days.
“We are currently doing a lot of running around on game days to supply players with the different coloured singlet tops required for different games,” she said.
“By giving our players reversible singlet tops we can make sure that they have everything they need on game day. This will relieve a lot of the stress on our players and volunteers who can now just focus on enjoying the game. It will also help reduce financial pressures placed on families.”
Cedar Woods chief Operating Officer Patrick Archer said the grants program has been integral in seeing thriving and vibrant communities come to life.
“Local organisations work tirelessly day in and day out to achieve incredible outcomes for communities. With our developments positioned in key growth areas, we look forward to seeing these communities continue to grow, thrive, and prosper. It is our hope that through our Community Grants program, we can play a small part in making that a reality,” he said.
