Graduates encouraged to apply for Big Build roles

Graduates from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds, including those from Hume and Whittlesea, can now apply to work on Victoria’s Big Build.

The state government has announced it is looking for 100 new people to help build big and work across the Level Crossing Removal Project, Major Road Projects Victoria, North East Link Program, Rail Projects Victoria and West Gate Tunnel Project.

“Victoria’s Big Build employs 50,000 people directly and indirectly and the best and brightest graduates are applying to be part of the team that is transforming the way Victorians travel,” transport and infrastructure minister Jacinta Allan said.

“If you feel like you have something to offer and you’re keen to learn from industry experts across a wide range of disciplines, all while getting paid a competitive salary, don’t hesitate to get your application in. We’d love to have you help us deliver Victoria’s Big Build in 2024.”

If successful, graduates will undertake a two-year program featuring structured learning and development opportunities as well as career planning to prepare for the next step in their professional lives.

They’ll develop technical and workforce skills, working alongside industry leaders and learning from experts eager to help and guide the next generation of talent.

By joining one of the project teams, the state government says graduates will gain first-hand experience working on state-shaping projects that will make it easier for Victorians to get where they need to go quickly and safely.

Job categories across Victoria’s Big Build include engineering, graphic design, human resources, information systems, land planning and environment, and law.

Graduates wishing to apply must have completed a degree since January 2021 or be due to graduate by January 2024, hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree relevant to the role applied for and have full Australian working rights at the time of application.

If you have completed a master’s degree, you must have started it within 12 months of completing your bachelor’s degree.

Applications to be part of the 2024 Victoria’s Big Build Graduate Program close on Wednesday, 22 March.
