GOTAFE mobile campus rolls in Mickleham

Mickleham jobseekers will have better access to skills and jobs services, training, education and career counselling, as GOTAFE hits the road in its recently launched mobile campus, which arrived in Merrifield this week.

The mobile campus will be in town until Friday, March 4, and is fully accessible, featuring a client reception area, private career counselling space, workshop and seminar space, and a community computer lab.

The mobile campus team will work assist the community and industry which are facing unprecedented social and economic challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“GOTAFE is committed to playing a lead role in supporting Merrifield in responding to these challenges,” GOTAFE acting attraction and engagement executive director Cassia Colbeck said.

“At its heart, the mobile campus works to bridge the gap between our communities and deliver critical employment and education services, regardless of location, access and financial barriers.”

GOTAFE will work in partnership with local government and tap into job active networks and financial support services, ensuring a community-centred approach as part of the service delivery.

This project recognises some students are disadvantaged by a lack of transport options which affects their access to education and other GOTAFE services.
