Gladstone Park man arrested

A 43-year-old Gladstone Park man has been arrested as part of an investigation into an organised crime syndicate linked to drug trafficking.

Police executed warrants at properties in Gladstone Park, Greenvale and Point Cook, early this morning (April 26).

The Gladstone Park man will be charged with possess a drug of dependence.

The Point Cook man is being interviewed by officers and police say he is expected to be charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs.

Detectives also seized a number of items from the properties including a high end vehicle allegedly used to traffick drugs, high end designer clothing and bags believed to be the proceeds of crime, and cash.

Today’s arrests form part of a Victoria Police investigation into a large-scale Middle Eastern Organised Crime syndicate.

The investigation commenced in October 2020 with police focused on the syndicate’s access to firearms, large-scale drug importation and unexplained wealth.

The taskforce have made 27 arrests relating to the investigation into this syndicate’s activities to date.
