Police are appealing for information about the assault of a young girl in Mill Park in March.
Detectives from the Mernda Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation team believe the girl was walking west along a bike path in Border Drive about 4.30pm on Friday, March 23, when she passed a man who started following her.
The girl, 17, was grabbed by the man from behind when she reached nearby parklands.
The man covered the girl’s mouth and told her to be quiet. The girl struggled and the man made threats to kill her if she did not remain quiet.
The struggle continued and the girl yelled out.
The man ran off in a northerly direction under the railway ling towards Calendula Circuit.
He is said to have a limp and a raspy voice.
Police have released a composite digital image of a man they believe can help with their inquiries.
