Australian Fed Cup captain Alicia Molik took to the court at Thomastown’s St Luke’s Tennis Club last week for a lesson with a budding star.
Chantelle McCormack, 9, who was named the ANZ Tennis Hot Shot of the Year during this year’s Australian Open, and three friends had a private lesson with the Australian tennis star, who is also a Hot Shots ambassador.
The annual ANZ Tennis Hot Shot of the Year competition rewards budding tennis stars around Australia for their participation, enthusiasm and enjoyment of the game.
Chantelle dreams of one day playing on centre court at Melbourne Park like her idol Victoria Azarenka.
“My goals are to keep getting better with lots of practice so that one day I can play in the Australian Open,” she said.
