The federal government will provide $414,000 million in funding to deliver an additional 300,000 fee-free TAFE places from January 2024.

McEwen MP Rob Mitchell is urging anybody interested to take advantage of this great opportunity.

“If you are leaving school, looking for work, or wanting to upskill and change your career, you may be eligible with a range of study options on offer,” he said.

“There are thousands of fee-free TAFE places available across Australia for in-demand industries so you can fast track your skills development and secure a well-paid job.”

Studying a fee-free TAFE course is a great option for people who want to gain new skills to start or change their career.

In 2024, a wide range of courses will be available across IT and digital, agriculture, hospitality and tourism, aged and disability care, childcare, construction, the VET workforce and defence or manufacturing industries, leading to increased job opportunities.

Fee-free TAFE prioritises training for students that traditionally face barriers to work and study including First Nations people, young people aged 17-24, job seekers, unpaid carers, women in non-traditional fields of study, and people with a disability.
