Hume pet owners can register their new dogs or cats for free until February 19.
Hume mayor Helen Patsikatheodorou (pictured with family pet Lisa) called on all those who recently provided homes to dog or cats to take advantage of the offer.
“This is a terrific saving on a registration fee and we hope it encourages people to do the right thing and register their animal,” Cr Patsikatheodorou said.
“It’s really important that owners register their dog or cat so that Hume council is able to return the pet if it escapes.”
