Four teens arrested after alleged attempted armed robbery

Four teenagers have been arrested after a boy was allegedly injured in an attempted armed robbery on Thursday.

Investigators have been told a 16-year-old boy was at Epping train station with friends when he was surrounded by a group of five boys , at least four of which were allegedly armed with knives, about 9pm on Thursday, January 20.

Police said the group allegedly made demands for the boy’s phone and when he refused an altercation occurred.

The 16-year-old sustained a suspected stab wound and ran to the Epping Police Station to report the incident, according to police.

The boy was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said officers located and arrested four boys near Thomastown train station later in the night.

A 16-year-old Broadmeadows boy, a 16-year-old Thomastown boy, a 14-year-old Thornbury boy, and a 16-year-old Reservoir boy are currently assisting investigators with their inquiries.

Investigations into the alleged incident remain ongoing.
