An investigation has been launched following a brawl breaking out between under-19 players from Panton Hill and Bundoora at Cracknell Reserve.

Video seen by Star Weekly shows supporters storming the field and throwing punches in a post match brawl of the Northern Football League match.

The fight began after the final siren of the match and the crowd escalated the melee with one crowd member seen throwing several punches and knocking a Panton Hill player to the ground.

The brawl concluded when players, umpires and officials worked together to break up the fight.

The Northern Football Netball League began an investigation and it remains unclear whether the spectators involved are league-registered players.

The league released the following statement regarding the brawl.

“The NFNL is aware of an incident which took place at the conclusion of the Panton Hill vs Bundoora under-19.5’s match on Saturday morning. The league has initiated an investigation into the matter and will be providing no further comment at this moment in time.”
