Foodies zoom on Hume

Attention all foodies – get your smartphones out and start sharing photographs of your favourite places to eat around Hume.

The council wants locals and visitors to “share” their favourite restaurants and cafes as part of its Discover Hume Instagram competition.

The aim is to encourage locals to discover their city’s hidden gems and show their pride in their favourite places in the municipality.

Mayor Drew Jessop said it is also an opportunity to showcase the best food Hume has to offer.

“We are fortunate to have so many eclectic cafes and restaurants, with a wide variety of cuisines at our fingertips,” he said.

“From the too-beautiful-to-eat brunches at cafes in Sunbury, through to authentic Middle Eastern cuisine – we’ve got it all in Hume”.

Participants have a chance to win a weekend getaway in Hume, valued at more than $850.

To enter, simply snap a foodie picture at your favourite eatery or watering hole, post it to Instagram using #discoverhume and #humeeats and follow @discoverhume.

Entries are open until Monday, April 12, and there are no limits on how many photographs people can enter.
