Five people arrested following Lalor shooting

Five people have been arrested following a non-fatal shooting in Lalor last Sunday 11 January.

A 23-year-old man from Box Hill was arrested on 14 January at a residential address on Station Street, Box Hill.

The man has been charged with 14 offences including reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally causing injury, public possession and prohibited use of a loaded firearm.

The man faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 14 January and was remanded to appear again on 8 April

Four more people were arrested at the address where a handgun, imitation firearm, cocaine and cash were also seized.

A 23-year-old Thomastown man was charged with possession of drugs and a prohibited weapon, and was bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates Court on 2 March .

A 20-year-old Lalor man, a 19-year-old Richmond man, and a 22-year-old North Melbourne woman were released after arrest and are expected to be charged.

Police will allege that shots were fired in a carpark on Mosaic Drive, Lalor at about 3.30am on Sunday 11 January.

At the time a 29-year-old man was driven to hospital with a non-fatal gunshot wound to his lower body.

Police believe the incident was targeted and that the parties involved were known to each other.
