Firefighters battled a fierce factory blaze in Coolaroo on Tuesday morning, bringing the fire under control within an hour despite structural damage to the building.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to reports of a building fire on Zakwell Court at 4.08am, arriving on the scene five minutes later.

Firefighters commenced external firefighting operations as flames had already spread throughout the ground floor of the double-storey tilt-slab premises.

The blaze was declared under control at 4.56am.

While firefighters managed to limit the damage to the ground floor, parts of the internal structure suffered minor collapse.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, with investigations ongoing.
