Police have charged a man and seized four firearms and ammunition following a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) search of a home in Craigieburn on Tuesday.

On January 9, a 66-year-old Craigieburn man was intercepted and arrested by taskforce members on Technical Drive in Craigieburn.

Four Flintlock pistols, seven rounds of ammunition, an imitation firearm and two boxes of Kamagra jelly were seized from the address.

He was subsequently charged with assault police, hinder police, resist police, wilfully engage a dog to attack, possess imitation firearm and possess cartridge ammunition.

The first four charges are in relation to an incident which occurred in late December when the members attended the Pembroke Crescent address and were threatened with a large Tibetan Mastiff dog.

The man was bailed to appear in court in June.

The investigation remains ongoing.
