Families in Donnybrook and surrounding areas can expect a new kindergarten to cater to the growing community.
The two-room facility is expected to open in 2022 and is already accepting applications for three and four-year-olds.
Located at the Hume Anglican Grammar’s Donnybrook campus in Olivine Estate, the kindergarten is proposed to be named Eucalyptus Parade Kindergarten.
Council administrator Chris Eddy said Whittlesea “is pleased to be welcoming so many new residents into Donnybrook, and the new kinder is an exciting service for the rapidly expanding population”.
The Donnybrook population currently sits about 2000 residents, which is expected to boom to more than 52,000 by 2041.
“The new Donnybrook kinder will cater for the rising demand for three and four-year-old kinder in the suburb,” Mr Eddy said.
Whittlesea is inviting the community to give feedback on the proposed name and will engage a kindergarten provider through expressions of interest.
