People can learn more about the nocturnal wildlife native to Hume during a free night tour at Bulla’s Deep Creek.
Experts will explain how residents can help our unique animals thrive, before leading a survey of local fauna.
Activities will include spot-lighting animals active at night, listening to frog calls in the creek, playing bird calls to encourage owls to call back and using equipment to detect insect-feeding bats.
Participants will also have the chance to search for the creek’s elusive platypus.
The Hume council event is from 8-10pm on February 17.
Bookings close February 12. Details: www.hume.vic.gov.au/livegreenworkshops
