There’s now an exciting opportunity to see inside a retail giant warehouse in the western suburbs.
Amazon has announced it is opening free, live virtual tours of it’s three Australian warehouses from this week, allowing people to see the inner workings of the company’s operations, including the Ravenhall site.
The tours will take place four times per week, led by an onsite guide who will lead an interactive experience and answer questions about the workings of the warehouse.
Amazon employee and western suburbs resident Olivia Adams will lead the Ravenhall tours and said she was looking forward to showing people how their packages end up at their door.
“It’s really highlighting the magic that happens between our people here at the fulfilment centre and the technology here as well,” Ms Adams said.
“It’s the the processes that are really exciting for viewers to see.”
The Ravenhall site is the biggest in the country, spanning the size of double the Melbourne Cricket Ground and has the capacity to hold up to one million larger items.
Ms Adams said she was excited to show the “seamless” process of packing items to tour attendees.
“They are able to pack up those items in literally under 30 seconds for single orders, which is just so impressive.”
Each tour will include three of the Amazon warehouse sites in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
The tours will run for one hour at 10:30am on Monday and Thursday, and 1:30pm on Tuesday and Friday.
Bookings for the tours can be made online and guests will receive a link to the virtual tour.
