A “missing” road link connecting High Street and Edgars Road in Epping has opened.

Deveny Road, which provides and east-west connection through Epping, was built in partnership with Whittlesea council, VicRoads, Costco, Pacific Epping and the Northern Hospital.

It has been completed as part of the Costco development, with the store set to open on August 29.

Traffic lights have been installed at the intersections of Hospital and Edgars roads, while the project has also included alterations to VM Michael Reserve, including a new basketball court.

Mayor Kris Pavlidis said the new road would provide an important connection for motorists and businesses in Epping.

“We are very excited with the delivery of Deveny Road,” she said. “This road is the missing link between High Street and Edgars Road and will make a huge difference for our community.

“It will now be an important connector road reducing congestion around a very important part of Epping.”
