Epping man charged over Tarneit burglary

Police have charged two men following an aggravated burglary where a firearm was shot in Tarneit in April.

Search warrants were executed at Epping and Melbourne addresses on the morning of Wednesday, June 7.

A 22-year-old Epping man was charged with five offences including, reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally causing injury and assault.

The 23-year-old Melbourne man was charged with six offences including, reckless conduct endangering life, and committing offences while on bail.

A sawn off rifle was seized from the Epping address.

The charges follow an incident on Thursday evening of April 27, where emergency services were called to Melville Street in Tarneit.

Police have been told a man was assaulted inside the property by a number of men. It is believed a shot was fired inside the house but did not strike the victim in the targeted attack.

The 27-year-old Tarneit man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
