Epping CFA is throwing open the doors to its fire station ahead of the summer fire season.

Captain Rob Saitta said the brigade attended more than 500 incidents a year ranging from structure fires to road rescue and grassfires – and wanted to thank the community for its ongoing support.

“We rely on our community to support us in more ways than one. The open day is an opportunity to engage with the community and thank them for their continued support ahead of what could be a challenging fire season,” he said.

“The brigade will have all the trucks accessible to members of the community to see the gear and the capability of our appliances.”

The open day will include a fire safety show, road rescue and home fire safety demonstrations, fire truck displays, a petting zoo and a sausage sizzle.

It’s on Sunday, November 10, at 2 O’Herns Road, Epping from 10am-2pm.
