Energy bill help for Hume locals

Hume council has partnered with Anglicare Victoria’s Energy Assistance Program to help locals understand and stay on top of their electricity and gas bills.

The team from Anglicare will be available at three pop-up sessions across Hume in May.

The team can help to:

– Work with your provider to manage your payments and apply for deadline extensions or hardship programs

– Compare providers to find the best energy offer for your household

– Find ways to reduce your energy costs at home

– Check if you are eligible for concessions or other discounts

– Link up with other services such as financial counselling or the Energy and Water Ombudsman.

The team will also be available to help with applications for the latest round of the $250 Power Saving Bonus. If you haven’t already applied for this round, now is the time to do it.

Residents are encouraged to bring along gas or electricity bills to one of these sessions:

Thursday May 11, 10am – 2pm at the Craigieburn Library

Thursday May 18, 10am – 2pm at the Sunbury Library

Wednesday May 24, 10am – 2pm at the Broadmeadows Library
