Craigieburn’s Elevation Secondary College has been announced as a recipient of the 2023 Victorian Youth Fest grant program.

The government provided $2000 in funding to help students at the college celebrate R-U-OK day through various interactive activities and by encouraging conversations about mental health.

The school will host one of 111 youth-led events across the state.

Kalkallo MP Ros Spence says she is glad the school received the grant.

“I’m proud that we’re supporting this fantastic event at Elevation Secondary College as part of the 2023 Victorian Youth Fest,” she said.

“I can’t wait to see students at Elevation Secondary College benefit from this funding to encourage important conversations about mental health.”

Victorian Youth Fest is a month-long celebration in September, which provides grants to eligible organisations to host events, led by and for young people aged between 12 and 25.

It will provide opportunities to showcase talents, grow networks and to connect with peers.

The college is still unsure how exactly it will use these funds, but said they will know by mid-July.
