Drugs, cash and cars seized following warrant executions

Police have seized drugs, cash, cars and a firearm following the execution of a number of warrants on Friday, February 26.

Officers from Fawkner Divisional Response Unit, with the assistance of members from Critical Incident Response Team, Melton Crime Investigation Unit and Australian Federal Police executed warrants in Thomastown, Heidelberg Heights, Lalor, Aintree and Bundoora as part of an investigation into drug trafficking in the local area.

Four people have been arrested as part of the operation.

Detective Inspector Melissa Sullivan said the actions of police will positively impact the community.

“The arrests and seizures will significantly disrupt the drug supply and trade within the northern and western suburbs,” Detective Sullivan said.

Police seized more than $160,000 in cash, a handgun, a Lamborghini, a BMW, a Mercedes AMG, more than 1.5 kilograms of methylamphetamine, 350 grams of amphetamine, watches valued at $30,000 and $40,000 in designer clothing.

A 36-year-old Bundoora man has been charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, trafficking a commercial quantity of amphetamine and negligently dealing with proceeds of crime.

A 27-year-old Lalor man was charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, possession of cocaine and possession of proceeds of crime.

Both faced court Friday evening.

A 22-year-old Heidelberg Heights woman and a 47-year-old Aintree woman were also charged.
