Drugs and ammunition seized in Dallas

Police have charged two men and seized drugs and ammunition after pulling over a car in Dallas on Monday 13 October.

One man first caught the attention of police after allegedly being involved in a collision about 9.55pm and speeding off towards Meadow Heights in a white Nisan Qashqai.

Police attempted to intercept the Nissan at the Hume Highway and Barry Road intersection in Dallas before the driver sped off and allegedly travelled along the wrong side of Barry Road.

A black BMW was then seen driving in convoy with the Nissan in Blair Street before both vehicles pulled into a shopping centre carpark, where the driver of the Nissan jumped out of his car and into the BMW.

Police then intercepted the BMW at the intersection of Barry Road and Blair Street in Dallas before uncovering a quantity of suspected methylamphetamine and ammunition upon a search.

Both men aged 30, from Dallas and Meadow Heights, were arrested at the scene.

The Dallas man was charged with dangerous driving while pursued by police, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, speed dangerous, trafficking and possessing a drug of dependence and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail and will remain in custody pending a remand hearing.

The Meadow Heights man has been charged with trafficking and possessing a drug of dependence, handling stolen goods, going quipped to steal, possessing suspected proceeds of crime and possessing cartridge ammunition and has been bailed to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 24 November.
