Drive-through vaccine hub to be established in Hume, Whittlesea area

A drive-through COVID-19 vaccination site will be established in the Hume and Whittlesea area, the state government announced today.

Premier Daniel Andrews said the announcement was part of a plan to hit a one million vaccination dose target in the next five weeks.

The “new and convenient” drive-through hubs will be established “to further meet the increased demand” for vaccinations.

“These sites are being established in partnership with community, local government and industry groups,” the state government said.

Details on the site locations are expected to be known soon.

Deputy secretary Naomi Bromley said the first drive-through hub, established in Melton earlier this week, would inform more efficient practices in the future hubs.

“All of those learnings will be taken forward as we plan these new sites,” Ms Bromley said.

“They will be really efficient.”
