Police detected a high range drink-driver following a collision in Craigieburn yesterday.
Officers were called to the intersection of Aitken Boulevard and Grand Boulevard about 2.45pm on Saturday, August 10, after reports a Nissan Navara Ute and an Audi SUV had collided.
After police talked with both drivers, the driver of the Nissan Ute, a 36-year-old Craigieburn man, took a preliminary breath test which returned a positive result for alcohol, before accompanying police to a local station where an evidentiary breath test returned an alleged reading of .303.
The driver was issued an immediate driving ban and will be charged on summons with exceeding the prescribed content of alcohol while driving.
The man’s car was also impounded for 30 days at a cost of $999.52.
The other driver was not injured in the collision.
