DPV Health reached 200,000 COVID-19 tests

The DPV Health COVID-19 testing team has provided 200,000 PCR tests to clients across Melbourne and regional Victoria since June 2019.

The tests have been primarily delivered through the Mernda testing hub. Supporting the main testing centre, was another two permanent sites and three mobile teams that were deployed to over 100 pop-ups.

At its peak, the Mernda testing hub conducted over 600 tests each day, over the two years.

DPV Health CEO Don Tidbury said such an accomplishment was achieved through the hard work and dedication of the team.

“The testing team or commonly known as our COVID warriors, have been serving the community in an ever-evolving COVID-19 climate, braving the weather, working with industry partners, and at times travelling hundreds of kilometres to deliver excellent care, service, and support to our communities, Mr Tidbury said.

I can’t show enough appreciation for the amazing work of our team and our community.”

To celebrate the milestone, DPV Health arranged a morning tea to thank the testing teams.

Emergency management manager at the city of Whittlesea Andrew Mason visited the Mernda testing site and offered words of encouragement on behalf of the city of Whittlesea CEO, Craig Lloyd.

“Council is pleased to work with DPV Health on a range of health programs, including supporting recent vaccination programs. The number of tests completed at Mernda is a testament to both the hard work of the DPV Health team and our staff and also to the commitment of the City of Whittlesea community in showing up to get tested when they have COVID symptoms, said Mr Lloyd.

It’s been a tough couple of years so I’d like to thank our community for doing the right thing and taking care of one another.”
