Dirt jump riders in Whittlesea are in for an adrenaline-filled experience as the Doreen Dirt Jumps track hosts its official launch event on Saturday, March 29.

Since opening in September 2024, the dirt jump track at Painted Hills Recreation Reserve has quickly become a favourite among BMX and mountain bike riders of all ages and skill levels.

Designed to accommodate beginners, intermediates, and advanced riders, the facility was built in response to a growing local passion for the sport.

The upcoming launch event promises an action-packed, family-friendly atmosphere, featuring jaw-dropping stunt demonstrations by dirt jump experts.

Riders will have the chance to pick up tips from professionals, while an onsite mobile bike repair service ensures they stay on track.

Attendees can also enjoy a free barbecue, face-painting, and exciting giveaways.

Whittlesea mayor Aidan McLindon said the new track reflects the community’s enthusiasm for outdoor recreation.

“We’re incredibly excited to launch the Doreen Dirt Jumps and provide a space where local riders can push their limits and enjoy this growing sport,” Cr McLindon said.

“This new track is a direct response to the passion and enthusiasm we’ve seen from our community, particularly young riders eager for more outdoor activities.”

The launch will take place at Painted Hills Recreation Reserve, 160W Painted Hills Road, Doreen, from 10 am to 12 pm.

Families and riders of all skill levels are encouraged to come along and be part of the celebrations.
