Doncaster man charged in relation to Epping woman disappearance

The Doncaster man will face Magistrates' Court today.

Police last night charged a man with murder in relation to the disappearance of Epping woman Ju Zhang.

A 35-year-old Doncaster man is due to face Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

The man was arrested at Melbourne Airport at 6.15pm on Wednesday.

Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad and police from the Search and Rescue Squad yesterday conducted a search of the Darebin Creek Reserve in Ivanhoe West as part of the investigation.

Ms Zhang, also known as Kelly, was last seen at her home on Winchester Avenue about 5.30pm on Monday, February 1.

The 33-year-old was believed to be wearing a pink nightgown and possibly pink slippers at the time.

The investigation is ongoing.
