Discover nature during Nature Play Week

Whittlesea council has welcomed back Nature Play Week this year with lots of fun activities for kids and families to connect and play in nature.

Nature Play Week is held from April 17-30, celebrating and promoting outdoor play opportunities to highlight the benefits of nature as a place to enjoy, relax, play, imagine and explore.

Whittlesea council is hosting two free family friendly activities during Nature Play Week, helping to connect families back to nature and support the development of healthy, confident and resilient children.

A nature discovery walk will take place on Sunday, April 23 and inviting residents to discover and learn about the beauty of nature on a majestic stroll through Epping Conservation Reserve.

Along the trail children can get involved in a range of nature activities and learn about the different trees and animals in the reserves.

The walk will run from 10am-2pm at the Epping North Conservation Reserve.

The week will also feature a pop-up bush playgroup on Friday, April 28 from 10am-12pm at the Laurimar Creek Reserve, Braford Drive, Doreen

Children up to the age of five and their parents/ carers are invited to enjoy some hands-on nature play activities to explore, create, imagine and discover nature.

No bookings are required for either of the Nature Play Week activities.
