Detox and turn your home sustainable

Whittlesea is hosting a home sustainability speed dating event for residents to ask a range of experts about making their home more comfortable, energy-efficient and affordable to run.

At the free event participants can book a 20-minute session to learn about household efficiency assessments, draught proofing, sustainable design and more.

Residents can book in for a session with as many experts as they like on the day.

Council said the event is designed for homeowners and renters alike, from renovators to those looking to reduce energy bills and improve comfort.

Attendees are encouraged to bring along house plans, photos, energy bills and questions to receive tailored, practical advice.

The event is from 10am-3pm on January 31 at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre, bookings are essential.

You can make January 31 a whole day of sustainability by booking a spot at the drive-through Detox Your Home event in Epping.

Residents can safely dispose of hazardous household chemicals between 9am and 3pm, bookings are essential, no walk-ins will be accepted.

Common chemicals collected include cleaning products like bleach and acids, brake fluid and petrol.
