A key Greenvale intersection has reopened following upgrade works.
Works to improve the intersection of Mickleham Road and Dellamore Boulevard wrapped up late last month.
Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV), which carried out the work as part of stage one of the Mickleham Road upgrade, said the re-opened intersection will provide a key link to homes in the Providence estate and the community amenities of Napoli Park.
MRPV said the works included new kerbs, drainage, road surface, road markings and shared paths for walking and cycling.
MRPV program director Dipal Sorathia said he was pleased the works have been completed..
“The improvements to the intersection are vital to the project’s aim of delivering safer and more-reliable travel for all users of Mickleham Road in Greenvale.
“We thank the community and drivers for their patience as we continue our work to deliver stage one.”
The intersections at Mickleham Road and Hillview Road, and at Blossom Drive and Somerton Road, will also be upgraded.
The roundabout at Somerton and Mickleham roads will be replaced with a new traffic light intersection and priority bus lanes.
Blossom Drive will close at Somerton Road from September 23 until late October so crews can complete the works.
Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected during the closure of Blossom Drive.
Additional upgrades will also take place at Hillview Road during this time.
Stage one of the Mickleham Road upgrade is set to be completed in January 2025.
